The Bridges of Love mission is to “Help Churches, Help People.” This Love Story indicates just that…
Recently, one of our great networking churches emailed us about a family they had come into contact with. This church is involved in a program in which they take in kids whose families are in short-term crisis.
The “Smith” family was needing Bridges of Love’’s assistance in gathering pledges from our churches to help with their utility bill.
This family of 7 had recently fallen on very hard times. When their house burned down, they thought life could not get much worse. The soon following lay-off of the husband brought more strain, but became only worse when the wife was diagnosed with cancer.
Struggling to get by, families from their church helped with the children on weekends temporarily. Even now, Mr. Smith is without a permanent job, but is doing odds and ends to help with the everyday family needs.
Unfortunately, one of the areas of lack was their utility bill. The Smiths tried to pay the amount, but found the funds just weren’t there.
Bridges of Love was privileged to rally together with four churches and with their pledges coming together got the family’s utility bill rescued from being disconnected! The Smiths were so grateful.
What a perfect example of how God uses Bridges of Love to help churches work together. What one church could not accomplish alone, four churches could do working together. What a Kingdom moment. To God be the Glory! His Church is strong and reaching out as His hands and feet.
